Designed for any investigator who has responsibility for ascertaining the origin, use, and criminal behaviour of a downed drone (UAV).

The Drone (UAV) Investigation training will be delivered over 5 days. If you have no previous digital forensics experience, days 1 and 2 are utilised to certify you in the use of one of the forensic tools available.

Drones, or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV's) have transformed the landscape of modern policing and provide a unique perspective, however, their increased accessibility and use for criminal purposes means we must learn how to utilise these devices for investigative purposes.

This short course is designed to provide an overview of drone usage and investigation considerations including the evolution and impact of drones, different drone categories, the key components of a drone, the guidelines and legislation that relates to drones, considerations in relation to the seizure of drones, and the types of data that may be available in terms of acquisition.
